Enclosed is my submission for your light painting competition for December 2013: INTERIOR LANDSCAPE
My image is titled:
“Peter H. Rosen’s SHADOW-MEN INSIDE LOOKING OUT; WHILE A PEELING PAINT PLANE DROPS BOMBS: NO TRESPASSING KEEP OUT”
Long Exposure Light Painting and Self Portrait by
Peter H. Rosen – V.A.R.I.O.U.S. Media
The image was recorded with a Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi at the site of OLD MAUI HS near Hookipa. The long abandoned (being resurrected) education venue was roofless and in some places, wallless. You can see the clouds in the sky through the now glassless windows. Leaving the shutter open, I “coated” the wall with a rainbow blend of light – whilst standing still to leave my silhouette for the camera. Then I repainted where I had been blocking giving the nice outline and gradient fill to my shadow people (repeating the process further down the wall before going back to my camera end the exposure).

…a happy dream, with lots of love and creative comrades. Now that I have met my beloved Annie, I find that I am no longer able to stay so “imprisoned” on the Valley Isle; given my hunger to contribute on a wider scale, bringing my gifts and visions. Plus mom is getting older (90% functional at 90) and I want to be closer to her to offer what support I can.
Annie and I do plan to come back frequently (See you in July). I am keeping my place there for now. I would like to find someone to sublet it while I am on the mainland if you know anyone really responsible and… (call for my description of the perfect person) and in process of removing my precious archives [negatives, film, magnetic media, etc] where they will be cooler and safer (should the person occupying my quarters do something stupid and cause a fire).
Can you tell how the image was manipulated?
